About Alanah

Alanah Sabatini is a composer, music producer, and songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Music has always been in her blood. Growing up in the Detroit, Michigan area, Alanah began taking piano lessons when she was in preschool and quickly fell in love with it. She grew in her proficiency as a pianist as she grew up, and then picked up guitar and bass in high school. Recording and producing the songs she wrote in her free time came naturally when she discovered GarageBand on her dad’s computer. Soon, she was introduced to Ableton Live by a mentor, which is the DAW software she uses to this day.

Alanah grew up in a strict Evangelical Christian environment, but she left the church entirely at the end of 2020 and began deconstructing her faith after coming out as queer. She moved to Nashville and took a few years off from music to reset, decompress, and take time to heal.

After doing plenty of deep-healing work, Alanah has turned her story into music that people across the spectrum of deconstruction can enjoy: hymns and worship music rewritten with affirming, loving, accepting lyrics. She is currently working on recording an album of full versions of these parodies, but clips of her rewrites can all be found on her Instagram and TikTok pages. Alanah is incredibly passionate about bringing people together and making others feel safe, especially through difficult feelings and healing journeys, and this project has been the perfect way for her to begin doing that through her music.

Currently, Alanah lives with her cat Navi in Nashville. In her free time she can be found playing video games, reading, or cooking.
